Instructions to install the Off-Campus version of Symantec Antivirus for Windows XP:

 

**You should uninstall any antivirus programs you currently have loaded on your computer before installing Symantec Antivirus.

**If you have Symantec System Works, you will need to uninstall the AntiVirus module before installing Symantec AntiVirus Corporate. Go To Start, Settings, Control Panel. Open Add or Remove Programs and select only the antivirus program to remove.

The following steps apply to Windows 2000/XP. Older versions of Windows are not supported by this install.

  1. Double click the executable file.

  2. To agree to the license agreement and continue the installation, click 'Yes'.

  3. Click next to continue the installation.

  4. To agree to the license agreement and continue the installation, click 'I accept the terms in the license agreement' and then click 'Next'.

  5. Select 'Client Install' and then click 'Next'.

  6. Select 'Complete' and then click 'Next'.

  7. Select 'Unmanaged' and then click 'Next'.

  8. Both 'Auto-Protect' and 'Run LiveUpdate should be checked, click 'Next'.

  9. Click 'Install' .

  10. When a window appears informing that 'You must restart your computer...Do you want to restart your computer now?', Click 'No'.

  11. Run LiveUpdate.

  12. Once the LiveUpdate has completed and the 'Updating Virus Protection Files' has disappeared, you may restart your computer.
