Passwords:
- Q: What is my default username and password?
- A: Your default username scheme is: First 5 letters of your Last Name + First letter of First Name + last 2 digits of your Student ID number; Your default password is your 7-digit Campus ID number.
- Q: I'm trying to log into the new email system for the first time, but I can't. Why not?

Features:
- Q: How do I forward email from my University account to another account?
- A: This page can tell you how to forward your Titan Mail to another account.

- Q: What is the maximum size for email attachments?
- Each message may have a cumulative max size of 8 MB, counting both text and attachments.
- Q: How long can I work on Titan Mail webmail before being timed out?
- A: The Titan Mail session time-out is at 2 hours.
Storage Quota:
- Q: How much storage space do I have for email on the Titan Mail server?
- A: University Faculty and Academic Staff have 150MB of storage.
- University students have 50MB of storage available to them.
- Q: I don't have enough email storage! How do I get more?
- A: University Faculty and Academic Staff may contact the Academic Computing Help Desk by email at acshelp@uwosh.edu or by phone at 424-3020 to request additional storage space.
- Students are not permitted to have more than 50MB of email storage space.
Browser Support:
- Q: What web browser do I need to access Titan Mail?
- A: Windows 2000/XP - The most recent versions of Internet Explorer (6.0), Mozilla (1.7), and Firefox (0.9.3) are all known to work. Netscape Navigator 7.1 will NOT work correctly.
- A: MacOS 9 - A completely unofficial version of Mozilla 1.3.1 that is unsupported by both Mozilla and the University has been found to work, if slowly. The install file (14.7 MB) may be downloaded from the University. More information on this version may be found at the original page; NEITHER MOZILLA NOR UW-OSHKOSH NOR THE PROVIDER OF THE FILE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THIS APPLICATION.
- Alternative for Mac OS 9: Contact the Academic Computing Help Desk (acshelp@uwosh.edu or 424-3020) to have an Academic Computing technician set up an existing mail client (Eudora, etc.) to connect with Titan Mail.
- A: MacOS X (10.0-10.2) - The most recent version of Mozilla (1.7) works reliably with Titan Mail.
- A: MacOS X (10.3) - The current version of Mozilla will work under OS X Panther, as will Safari.
Problem Resolution:
- Q: I'm trying to use Titan Mail; I can see the window but there's nothing in it.
- A: Many varieties of popup-stoppers (including web browser toolbars like those from Yahoo, etc.) can cause this problem. To fix it, you must either disable the popup-stopper, uninstall it, or if possible add 'webmail.uwosh.edu' to its exclusion list.
- A: If using the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser, ensure that it's security level is set no higher than 'Medium'. This setting can be found under the 'Tools' menu, choosing the 'Internet Options' selection and then the 'Security' tab.
- A: Try clearing the web browser's cached temporary files at the following locations:
- Internet Explorer
- Use the 'Tools' menu
- Choose the 'Internet Options' selection
- Under the 'General' tab, find the 'Temporary Internet files' heading
- Click the 'Delete Files' button; then click the 'OK' button.
- Mozilla
- Use the 'Edit' menu
- Choose the 'Preferences' selection
- Select the 'Advanced' group in the left-hand window pane, then 'Cache' as a sub-option
- Click the 'Clear Cache' button; then click the 'OK' button.
- Mozilla FireFox
- Use the 'Tools' menu
- Choose the 'Options' selection,
- Select 'Privacy' group in left-hand window pane
- Click the 'Clear' button on the "Cache" line; then click the 'OK' button.
- Internet Explorer
- Q: When I try to log in to Titan Mail, I'm returned immediately to the login page.
- A: This problem is normally caused by your web browser rejecting a 1st-person cookie that Titan Mail (uwosh.edu domain) needs to set. To resolve it:
- Internet Explorer (preferred resolution)
- Use the 'Tools' men u
- Choose the 'Interne t Options' seletion
- >Under the 'Privacy' tab, click 'Edit' in the "Web Sites" options group
- Ender the address "uwosh.edu" and click the 'Allow' button; then click the 'OK' button to return to the 'Internet Options'screen and click 'OK' again to close 'Internet Options'.
- Mozilla (preferred resolution)
- Use the 'Edit' menu
- Choose the 'Preferences' selection
- Select the 'Privacy & Security' group in the left-hand window pane, then 'Cookies' as a sub-option
- Click the 'Cookie Manager' button in the lower right corner and select the 'Cookie Sites' tab
- Ender the address "uwosh.edu" and click the 'Allow' button; then click the 'Close' button to return to the 'Preferences' screen and click 'OK' again to close 'Internet Options'.

- Q: Can I use other calendar and task programs with Titan Mail?
- A: Yes, use the Sync Tool to synchronize Titan Mail with Calendar and Task features in both Outlook and Palm OS. This tool is completely unsupported by the University and Academic Computing; UW-OSHKOSH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THIS APPLICATION, USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. Documentation on the sync tool can be found at the Sun Documentation Site.
- Note: The tool will require information on the server and port to connect on; the server is "webmail.uwosh.edu" and the port is 82.
