List Subscriber Information Subscribing To A List If you wish to subscribe to an open mailing list, proceed to the index of mailing lists and choose the list to subscribe to. If the list is not advertised: go to the above link and add a / (slash) followed by the list name to the URL shown in your browser. Enter your E-Mail address and choose a password. The password will be used later if you need to unsubscribe or change your settings for this list. Click the subscribe button to begin the subscription process. A few minutes later, you will receive an E-Mail requesting that you confirm your subscription request. Simply reply to the message, leave the subject and body exactly as they appear in the original message. Depending on the list settings, your subscription may or may not have to be approved by the administrator. You also may receive a welcome message containing any information the list administrator has entered, along with your password and the URL to the list information page. Editing Your Options To edit your subscription options, proceed to the index of mailing lists and choose the list you want to change your options for. If the list is not advertised: go to the above link and add a / (slash) followed by the list name to the URL shown in your browser. Enter your E-Mail address in the box on the bottom of the page and click the "Edit Options" button. From this page, you can change list delivery options, change your password, and unsubscribe from the list. Unsubscribing From A List To unsubscribe, follow the above procedure to get to the list options page for the list you wish to unsubscribe from. You can unsubscribe by entering your password in the box at the top left of the options screen. If you have forgotten your password, it can be sent to your E-Mail address from that page also. Alternative Method You may also subscribe, unsubscribe, and change your list options using an E-Mail interface. Send an E-Mail to LISTNAME-request@lists.uwosh.edu, replace LISTNAME with the name of the mailing list you are subscribing, unsubscribing, or changing the options for. In the subject or body of the message, put the word "help" - the rest of the message should be blank. The system will respond with the available options and details for how to use them.
