Moderated Lists
If you are a list administrator of a moderated list, you will have to use the "Tend to pending administrative requests" function of the list management software to approve or deny posts to your lists. When you receive notification that a post is waiting for approval, follow the link in the message and log in with the list administration password. Each post waiting for approval will be shown, grouped by poster's e-mail address. If you choose one of the options on the left, it will take that action for all messages from that user which are currently waiting for approval. You may approve/deny single messages by clicking the number in blue next to the subject of the message. If you wish to allow a message, simply choose "Approve" for that message and click the submit button. You may also choose to reject the message, sending a reason back to the poster. The message could also be discarded without notification, this is particularly useful for junk mail (spam). If you wish to view the content of a message before approving it, you can click the blue number next to the message to view some of the body. Depending on the way it was sent, it may be in a format which is not easily readable in the preview. In this case, leave the selected action at "defer" and click the box for having the message forwarded to the owner (that's you.) When you click "Submit all data", that message will be sent only to your address for you to review, and it is still held in the list manager software for your later approval. |
