How do I Reset My TitanMail Password?

When resetting your Titan Mail password, please remember the following:

  • Before you can login into Titan Mail for the first time, you will need to reset your password.
  • To reset your password, please follow these steps:
  • Step 1. At the UW Oshkosh homepage www.uwosh.edu, on the right side of the page under Titan Web Resources heading, click the Titan Mail link.
  • Step 2. This will open the Titan Mail Login screen, DO NOT LOGIN! INSTEAD CLICK THE CHANGE PASSWORD LINK!
  • Step 3. Once you have clicked the change password link, the change password page will open.

At the change password page you will see five input fields into which you need to enter information.

The first box is the server box field, this should say Titan Mail and not Web Server.

The second box is the user name field, this is where you put in your e-mail username ONLY! DO NOT PUT THE @uwosh.edu after your username! Remember your username is:

For students: The first five letters of your last name and the first letter of your first name and the last two digits of your student id number.

For staff: The first five letters of your last name and first letter of your first name.

The third box is your old password, (If this is your first time logging into Titan Mail, it's your student ID number WITHOUT THE W in FRONT OF THE NUMBER!

The fourth box is for your new password, which must meet the following criteria:

Please note the following information regarding this procedure:

  • If you have not previously changed your password, it is currently set to your 7-digit Campus ID number.
  • Enter your user name in lower case.
  • Passwords must meet the following requirements
    • At least 7 characters
    • Not a word found in the system dictionary
    • Not the same as the username
    • No consecutive same characters
    • At least one character from three of the following categories:
      • Upper Case (A-Z)
      • Lower Case (a-z)
      • Numbers (1-9)
      • Special characters (!@#$%^&*_+,-./)

The fifth box is where you type the new password again, that you created and typed in the fourth box. Once you have typed it into the fourth and fifth box, then click the submit button.

You have successfully changed the password it will say password was sucessfully changed, if you changed it wrong it will give you an error message and you need to create a new password again. Reasons for error messages are possibly a result of the following:

  • You typed in the username with the @uwosh.edu after your username
  • You typed in your student or staff ID with the letter W in front of the number.

If you are still having problems, then you will need to contact the UW Oshkosh Help Desk at 920-424-3020 to have your password reset.

Remember when the help desk resets your password, we automatically reset it back to your student id number. BEFORE YOU CAN LOGIN INTO TITAN MAIL YOU WILL NEED TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD, BY FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS ON THIS PAGE! IF YOU DON'T FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LOGIN INTO TITAN MAIL.
