Academic Computing Alerts Mailing List
          A mailing list for Academic Computing announcements is managed by the Academic Computing Department of UW Oshkosh. The purpose of this list is to disseminate information regarding the status of the University computer network; status of the Alpha (VaxA) mail server; PC & Mac Eudora upgrades; and other Academic Computing related topics.

          The name of the list is alert-list . To subscribe to this list, send a subscribe command to the E-Mail address:

alert-list-request@list.uwosh.edu

          Turn OFF your signature when sending, or enter the command end on the line after subscribe.

Example:

To: alert-list-request@list.uwosh.edu
Subject:
-----------------------------------------------
subscribe
end

          To unsubscribe from the list, repeat everything above, except enter unsubscribe instead of subscribe.


          As of Jan. 5, 2001, the Alert Mailing List replaced both of the old POPMAIL and OUTAGES Mailing Lists. All subscribers to either of the old lists were subscribed to the new list and notified of the change.
