About NetDrive
NetDrive
allows you to map a drive on your workstation and, via the internet, connect to
a folder on Novell, Windows or Linux server.
You
can also map multiple drives to multiples servers. The drive mapping will show
up in Windows explorer and look and act like a
local
drive.
System Requirements
You need to have Windows 95 or above.
Installing NetDrive
The NetDrive installer can be downloaded from our secure
download site here. You must log
in to download, only current UW Oshkosh employees and
students are eligible to use NetDrive.
You can
either save it to disk, or run it from its current location.
If you choose
to save to disk, you must double click it afterwards to start the install,
otherwise it will start automatically.
Accept the defaults. A reboot may be
required.
After the installation enter the netdrive
software.
Click on New Site, enter a name for the
site such as "Lan2"
You will need to choose a protocol or server type you
wish to use. Choose WebDav.
Enter a site address of
https://ed2.nds.it.uwosh.edu/oneNet/NetStorage
Make sure you select the
appropriate server type of WebDav
Change the drive
to the letter you choose. Ie S: or W:
You can Check Connect at login/Startup or Check Add to tray
connect menu options.
Uncheck Anonymous/Public Logon
Enter your username. Depending
on security concerns choose to enter password and Save password box.
