News

Happy New Year to All! While it is old news, if you aren't making use of our newest services - TitanMail IM, TitanFiles, and the TitanMail Spam Folder - please check the information below.

New Instant Messaging Service via the campus TitanMail server

To install the TitanMail Instant Messaging client on your computer go to http://im.uwosh.edu and click the start button. If on a Mac, double click the im.jnlp file that is downloaded. Login using your TitanMail username and password.

TitanFiles for file storage and collaboration

TitanFiles is a web-based file storage and collaboration system. You can save documents to a secure environment that can be accessed anywhere at any time via the web. Best of all you can also set specific permissions to share specific files or folders with individuals or groups on campus or off. You can share with your instructor or students. You can share project space with a class group. You can easily share your resume with off-campus employers or research with off-campus colleagues...all via web links. You can easily share large files that would otherwise clog the email server.

Access TitanFiles at http://titanfiles.uwosh.edu
Access TitanFiles training handout at http://www.acs.uwosh.edu/titanfiles/titanfiles-manual.pdf

Additional Spam Folder

If you login directly to TitanMail or use a client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird, with the IMAP protocol, you will see a new folder labeled Spam. This is a system folder we are providing to remove spam from your In Box, while still giving you the opportunity to review those emails to make sure we didn't categorize something you really wanted to receive as spam. If you use other email clients, such as Outlook and Thunderbird, with the POP protocol (email stored on your hard drive instead of the server) you won't see this new folder or the messages stored in it. If you find we're categorizing something you really want to receive as spam, follow the directions at the link below to create a filter so you'll receive that email in your In Box in the future - http://www.acs.uwosh.edu/mail/spamfolder/optingout.html
